Islam teaches us to collectively support each other at times of need. One such occasion is when a fellow muslim falls into sin.
A muslim never rejoices at the mistake of his fellow brother/sister.
Sayyiduna ‘Umar (radiyallahu’anhu) practically demonstrated an example of “collective support” for a sinner, thereby resulting in his repentance.
