Allah Ta’ala most definitely honours those involved in learning and imparting Diniy knowledge in this world and the Hereafter. This can be easily understood from the Quran Majid and Mubarak Hadith of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam). However, Allah Ta’ala many a time, as a motivation, inspiration and lesson for the entire mankind, manifests these honours via dreams, among other ways.

An example of this is found in the great ‘Alim and Muhaddith, Hazrat Moulana Haroon Abasoomar (rahimahullah). Moulana (rahimahullah) had immense love for the Hadith of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam). This can be gauged from the fact that Moulana (rahimahullah) taught Bukhariy Sharif in Madrasah Taleemuddeen for an amazing 25 years.
Any individual who sat in these lessons perceived the love for Allah Ta’ala, Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and our pious predecessors (rahimahumullah) gushing forth from the heart of Moulana (rahimahullah).
He would explain the chapters of Bukhariy Sharif and the intelligence of Imam Bukhariy (rahimahullah) with immense love and respect. This special link with Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and Imam Bukhariy (rahimahullah) brought about such an honour, the similitude of which was experienced by Imam Bukhariy (rahimahullah) himself.
Below are two dreams seen regarding Moulana Haroon Abasoomar (rahimahullah) and Imam Bukhariy (rahimahullah) respectively.

Glad Tidings for Moulana Haroon ibn Isma’il Abasoomar (rahimahullah)
An ‘Alim -who is the student of Hazrat- relates:
“I had a dream on the night our beloved Ustad, Hazrat Moulana Haroon sahib (rahimahullah) passed away.
On the night that Hazrat Moulana Haroon Abasoomar sahib (rahimahullah) passed away, I saw a very beautiful handsome person, full of nur, wearing green clothes. Thereafter I heard a voice saying that this is our beloved Nabiy Muhammad (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam). I was filled with awe and respect. I asked, “O Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam)! What has brought you over here? Is there any khidmah that I can do for you?” Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) answered, “I have come to fetch a very special person” and turned towards that person. I then saw a person standing there. It was Hazrat Moulana Haroon Abasoomar sahib (rahimahullah) wearing a white kurta and a topi. Around that time my wife woke me up and gave me the message that Hazrat Moulana Haroon sahib (rahimahullah) passed away.”

The same Glad Tidings for Imam Muhammad ibn Isma’il Bukhariy (rahimahullah)
‘Abdul Wahid bin Adam (rahimahullah) says,
“I saw a dream wherein I saw Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) together with a group of his Sahabah (radiyallahu ‘anhum) waiting at a place. I made Salam to him (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and he (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) replied to the Salam. I asked, “O Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam)! What is the reason for your waiting here?” Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) answered, “I am waiting for Muhammad ibn Isma’il (rahimahullah).” After a few days I received news of the demise of Imam Bukhariy (rahimahullah). After deliberation, I found that he passed away at the time I saw Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) in the dream.
(Hudas Sariy, pg. 663)

One can understand the special connection that these two great luminaries of their times had with Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam). The aspect of a person being with the one he loves in the Hereafter is also evident from the above. On one occasion, Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) mentioned to a Sahabiy (radiyallahu ‘anhu),

أَنْتَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ

“You will be with who you love.”
(Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 161)

We should take lesson from the above and introspect as to who do we really have love for. Undoubtedly we will be with those whmo we love in the Hereafter.
May Allah Ta’ala grant us true love for Allah, His Rasul (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), the Ambiya (‘alayhimus salam), the Sahabah (radiyallahu ‘anhum), the Fuqaha, Muhadithun, Mashaikh and Awliya (rahimahumullah). Amin.
