Lesson 8 – Love for the Sunnah

It is the belief of every Muslim that the only way to successfully enter Jannah is by following the Sunnah of our Beloved Nabiy Muhammad (sallallahu ’alayhi wasallam). The Sunnah is all encompassing and absolutely simple as well as easy to implement.

Hazrat Moulana Haroon Abasoomar (rahimahullah) possessed unique love for the Sunnah. He would always ensure that every deed is done in accordance to the Sunnah.
Upon learning of a Sunnah that he was unaware of, he would immediately try to implement it in his life.
He would constantly remind others about the Sunnah as well. He would consider missing a Sunnah as a calamity, and recite inna lillah… if that occurred.
If he misplaced his miswak, he would become upset and disturbed. He wouldn’t drink a tablet without sitting and covering his head.

Hazrat Moulana (rahimahullah) was also extremely punctual on the recital of the masnun du’as for various occasions. He would repeatedly remind his associates [including little children] of the du’as too.   He had the noble habit of reciting these du’as loudly as a reminder to others.
Reviving Sunnahs that were uncommon in society was very dear to him. He would often lecture on the Sunnah from the mimbar, as well as in the classroom and informal gatherings. Likewise, he would strictly condemn anything that was done contrary to the Sunnah.
Allah Ta’ala had used Hazrat (rahimahullah) to revive numerous Sunnahs wherever he went. Many people in the country and abroad were inspired to implement the Sunnahs that they were lacking in. Through his inspiration, several people grew full beards, changed their dressing in accordance to the Sunnah and developed a close attachment to the Sunnah.
Hazrat Moulana Haroon saheb (rahimahullah) would often repeat the words of Hazrat Moulana Abrarul Haq saheb (rahimahullah) regarding the Sunnah:

“It is:
1.  The easiest
2.  Most complete/perfect
3.  And Least expensive
way to do anything.”

May Allah Ta’ala bless Hazrat’s soul and grant one and all the tawfiq to follow the Sunnah in all aspects of life. Amin.

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) Said: “Glad tidings be for the one whom Allah uses as a key for (opening) good and a lock for evil.”
(Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith 238)
