The Power of Secret Charity
Giving charity in secret brings immense reward, up to 70 times more than when done openly. While public charity is acceptable, keeping nafl deeds hidden protects sincerity and pleases Allah Ta’ala. As mentioned in the Quran Majid:
“If you disclose your charitable expenditures, they are good; but if you conceal them and give them to the poor, it is better for you…” (Surah Baqarah, Verse: 271)
Secret charity extinguishes Allah’s anger and shields from calamities. On the Day of Qiyamah, one of the seven shaded under Allah’s Throne will be the one who gave charity so secretly that even his left hand didn’t know what his right hand gave.
