Many of us spend considerable time making du’a, pouring our hearts out to Allah with hope and sincerity. Yet, despite our earnest supplications, we sometimes feel that our du’as go unanswered. Why does this happen? How can we understand it in light of Allah’s promise in the Quran, where He says,

ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ

“Call upon Me; I will respond to you” (Surah Ghafir, Verse: 60)

This very question was once asked of the great sage, Ebrahim ibn Adham (rahimahullah). A person approached him, saying, “Why is it that we make du’a to Allah, but we do not see our du’as being accepted?” In response, Ebrahim ibn Adham (rahimahullah) offered profound insight by listing eight reasons why our du’as may be left unanswered.

Listen to a series of talks to explore each of these reasons and discover how we can make our du’as more meaningful, better and ultimately, more likely to be answered.
