The current sad state of the Ummah of Nabiy Muhammad (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) is indeed unprecedented in recent history.
The Ummah is challenged on all fronts; from widespread oppression, to poverty and illness, to political scandals and instability. Coupled with broken relationships and pandemics etc.
It is indeed a sad state of affairs.
Whilst we believe that every difficulty is undoubtedly followed by ease, the current situation is such, that ease is not yet in sight.
My Honourable Teacher; the Grand Muhaddith of our era, Shaykh Muhammad ‘Awwamah (hafizahullah) frequently laments over the fact that despite these circumstances, there is still no awakening in the Ummah!
How would we then be eligible for Allah’s mercy?!
Shaykh (hafizahullah) advised that the following be included in our daily du’as:

اللّٰهُمَّ أَصْلِحْنا وَفَرِّجْ عَنَّا

Allahumma aslih na wa farrij ‘anna
O Allah! Reform us and relieve us.
