Shaykh Muhammad ‘Awwamah (hafizahullah) says:
Two fundamental requirements for our Du’as to be accepted:
a) Halal earnings.
b) Sincere pleading.
Reflection
Shaykh (hafizahullah) mentioned the above when discussing the poor state the Ummah finds itself in, where people often say: We have nothing else to rely upon besides Du’a.
He then cited several inspiring incidents of Du’as being accepted to illustrate this.
